How to Calculate Forex Profit in Nepal?
Trading foreign currencies like US Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), or Australian Dollar (AUD) against the Nepalese Rupee (NPR) can be profitable. However, calculating the exact return is tricky because of the difference between Buying Rates and Selling Rates.
Understanding NRB Rates
- Selling Rate (Bank Sells to You): This is the rate you pay when you convert your NPR to foreign currency (Investment). To calculate your initial investment cost, we use the historical Selling Rate on the purchase date.
- Buying Rate (Bank Buys from You): This is the rate you get when you convert your foreign currency back to NPR (Realization). To calculate your final value, we use the current (or sell date's) Buying Rate.
Why use this calculator?
This tool automatically fetches the official Nepal Rastra Bank exchange rates for both your purchase date and sell date. It handles the complex logic of applying the correct "Buy" vs "Sell" rate to give you an accurate Net Profit/Loss figure in NPR, along with annualized return percentages.
